Look at Me

So far I'm feeling unimpressed and uninspired by the sartorial choices for 2010's Costume Institute Gala. Where is the drama ladies? Where is the glamour?!

If I were attending I'd wear something like this from Christian Dior Couture Fall 2008. The dress demands an audience and is from a one of my all time favorite collections ever.

Prom

Tonight is The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala aka the Oscars of the Fashion world. This year's theme is American Women: Fashioning a National Identity' is being hosted by the queen herself Ms.Anna Wintour, the queen of talk Oprah Winfrey, and Patrick Robinson head designer of The Gap. A perfect trio to represent the highs and lows of truly American fashion. I am eagerly looking forward to seeing lots of  designer collaborations with the Gap including Rodarte, Sophie Theallet, and Alexander Wang.

Last year's exhibit, titled 'The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion', was a fascinating adventure through 21st century designers and their relationship with supermodels. Can't wait to see what this year's curators have in store for us.
